The Director and lead teacher, Rachel Wilcox
Rachel has worked with children ages 2 to 6 for the last 16 years. She received her degree from Louisiana State University in 1992 and her Montessori training from the National Center for Montessori Education (NCME) in San Diego, California in 1995. NCME has recently merged with American Montessori Society or AMS. Rachel worked in a variety of early childhood positions in San Diego including lead teacher,The Montessori School of San Diego, 2 years, Assistant Preschool Director and curriculum instructor, Horizon Christian Preschool in Rancho Santa Fe, 2 years, and lead teacher and Director, Chabad Hebrew Academy Preschool in San Diego, 7 years. She has also worked as a montessori consultant to schools helping to develop curriculum and programs. She is a member of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Louisiana Montessori Association (LMA). Rachel feels extermely blessed to be operationg this school and sharing her love of Montessori and early childhood development with the families here. Rachel is a Louisiana Native who is happy to be back home. When she is not enjoying her home away from home in San Diego, she lives in Mandeville. Assistant lead teacher, Allison Bradbury Allison has been enjoying a career in early childhood education since 1992 and has taught the Montessori method since 1995. She was trained through the Montessori World Educational Institute in Hammond, Louisiana and completed a home study program as well. She has been part of the Lakeview Maria Montessori Preschool family since the schools beginning. She has a great love for educating young children and helping them to be the best that they can be. She is married and the proud parent of two children who are attending Southeastern Louisiana University. |
